This lovely caturday video smile shows tonight's festivities as enacted by several Indonesian bird species

What do you plan to do tonight to celebrate New Year's Eve? For many people, this holiday involves dancing, drinking and other friendly social activities. In honour of the holiday, I'm sharing a video that digitally captures two species of birds of paradise as they engage in their own festivities -- which look remarkably similar to what many humans will be doing tonight, too.

In this video, we see two of New Guinea's many birds of paradise species -- the Magificent and the King birds of paradise -- dance and hang upside down in their spectacular courtship displays as they seek to impress "window shopping" females:
